Making Extraordinary Things Happen
Each time you play The National Lottery you help make the UK a better place.
Since the very first National Lottery draw in 1994, your support has funded more than 690,000 projects, raising more than £50 billion for good causes. We want to say thank you to National Lottery players for changing the lives of ordinary people across the UK for the last 30 years.
We like to celebrate the inspirational people and their innovative projects that do extraordinary things with the help of National Lottery funding.
From small community centres in towns and villages the length and breadth of the country to iconic landmarks like the Angel of the North and world-class stadia…you have helped build them.
From veterans to the most vulnerable in society…you have helped support them.
Think of your last visit to a museum, an art gallery, the theatre or a sport centre – the chances are it has had National Lottery money.
The National Lottery has created thousands of jobs, provided more than a million training volunteering opportunities and helped build a vibrant, internationally renowned arts and film industries with BAFTA and Oscar successes.
In addition, it has elevated our elite sportsmen and women to a standard that is best in the world and they have the gold medals and world titles to prove it.
It has provided a huge financial boost for communities across the UK to work and come together – through community gardens, fund days, luncheon clubs and village halls.
The organisations who do such amazing work to support the most disadvantaged in our society – the homeless, those who suffer from illness, the very young or old or victims of violence and abuse – are, very often, in turn supported by The National Lottery.
Thank you for making amazing things happen over the last 30 years. Amazing starts with you.
