Their strategic investment and direction has enabled Great Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic sports and athletes to achieve their full medal winning potential with over 860 Olympic and Paralympic medals won since 1997!
UK Sport’s other responsibilities include bidding for and staging major sporting events, increasing sporting influence internationally, and promoting the highest standards of governance, sporting conduct, ethics and diversity in society.
UK Sport invested over £40m of National Lottery funding in support of a £150m programme to host major international sporting events in the UK from 2013-2023.
